A group of people from neighborhoods across Arden Arcade gathered at the Conzelmann Community Center in Howe Park last night. Despite it being a busy night for activities throughout the region and the community, so many people came that the organizers had to keep adding chairs. The meeting attendees discussed what to do about issues like homelessness, crime and municipal governance. There was general agreement that it is time to work together as a community by attending Board of Supervisor and CPAC meetings, filing 311 Connect reports online and by phone, and strengthening lines of communication from neighborhood to neighborhood. Though there is no name for the group yet, one can be expected soon. News about the group’s activities will be made available here and in various Facebook and Nextdoor discussions. It was announced that a holiday potluck will be held on December 7th; details will be available in the near future. Last night was another example of the strength of our community. It’s uplifting to see people join together like this!
