Arden Arcade is an unincorporated community of nearly 100,000 people. It is also the County's "cash cow" due to the level of economic activity in the community. If it was a city it would rank in the upper 1/3 of all cities in California, would qualify for revenue streams not otherwise available for infrastructure improvements, and - perhaps most importantly - would provide its residents with democracy and local control via a Mayor and a City Council focused on local priorities. The pages herein discuss topics of annexation and incorporation with the hope that local residents will be better informed as to governance options available to them.
