Think again if you thought "May is Bike Month." These days, "May is Meeting Month." In addition to his previously-announced meeting about potholes and anything else transportation-related, Supervisor Desmond has now scheduled a meeting to discuss the transportation aspects of the large new middle school at Creekside. Here's what his invitation to the public says:
County Supervisors Rich Desmond and Phil Serna have announced a public meeting will be held at the Horseman's Association on May 25th from 6-7pm to provide an update on outreach and engagement services provided by a City of Sacramento contractor at the Auburn Blvd. Respite Center that serves homeless individuals. The Horseman's Association is located at 3200 Longview Drive.
Sacramento County has established a Climate Emergency Mobilization Task Force. The goal is to try and do something, anything, about sustainability. The Task Force members mean well and deserve our thanks, at least for trying.
Supervisor Rich Desmond has announced a series of meeting he is holding to discuss transportation. On May 31st one of the meetings will be held at the Conzelman Community Center in Howe Park at 8:00am. If it will be anything like his previous meetings there will likely be coffee and maybe some donuts. Here is what he says about the meeting:
There will be a public hearing tonight at the San Juan Unified School District Board of Trustees meeting on the subject of the large middle school being built at Creekside. Specifically, the school board is seeking public input on the draft Preliminary Endangerment Assessment (PEA) of the site. The hearing, agenda item I-3, a timed item for 8:05 tonight at 3738 Walnut Avenue in Carmichael.
The San Juan School District is currently running expensive construction projects at the Arcade Fundamental Middle School and former Creekside Elementary School sites - about $60M at each location. Arden Arcade will be the site of Supervisor Desmond's next Winter Community Meeting about homelessness and the County’s response. The meeting's will include Emily Halcon, Director of Homeless Services & Housing and a Sheriff's Deputy from the Homeless Outreach Team.
