Our community has a lot of aging Modesto Ash trees and other kinds of trees that aren’t well-suited for our local habitat. And there are a great many trees that have been trimmed over the years in ways that are conducive to falling limbs. Add to that the shallow nature of our soil that sits on top of the ancient sea bed - not the best combination for tree roots. Then along comes a storm with heavy rains and high winds. It can change the ambiance of a neighborhood in the blink of an eye.
Last night’s storm (1/6/2019) brought down a tree on Pennland south of El Camino that narrowly missed the utility lines and parked cars. Another tree on the other side of the wires lost a large limb.
