Hooray, it's our nation's 245th birthday! Today we celebrate our freedom and our democracy! Whether in Arden Arcade, Carmichael, North Highlands, Foothill Farms or anywhere else in the vast UnCity of Sacramento County, or in any of the several cities in the County, we wish you a safe and joyous holiday. Local control was a great idea in 1776 and still is. We may not have the same rights and privileges as our fellow County residents who happen to live in cities - with Mayors and City Councils to focus on local priorities - but we will certainly have bombs bursting in air giving proof through the night that our First Responders are busy. Please keep your pets indoors tonight.
