Today Exotic Plants held its 49th Anniversary party. That's a very big deal for a local small business. Exotic Plants is owned by Kifumi Keppler. A native of Kyoto, Japan, she developed skills in Ikebana, (Japanese flower arrangement) and learned the tea ceremony and several Japanese musical instruments. Her interest in videography led to a Fulbright scholarship to Sac State. After graduation she worked for KCRA for a while. She eventually found her passion in the artistry and spiritual aspects of plants. Her store at 1525 Fulton Avenue features a wide variety of premium indoor plants.
