Sam's Hofbrau plans to re-open

Sam's will remodel and reopen in about 3 years. A food truck is planned for the duration of the reconstruction.

According to our friends at Vintage Arden Arcade, Sam's Hof Brau at Watt and El Camino will be re-opening. The  iconic restaurant that has served our community since the late 1950s was severely damaged by a fire in 2023. The owner then explored leasing the property instead of rebuilding. An outpouring of customer support has caused him to reconsider. His current plan is to restore the restaurant, with decor close to the way it was. That is expected to take about 3 years. In the meantime, Sam's is seeking permission from the County for a food truck with outdoor seating and catering/delivery service that will offer a limited menu of favorites like rotisserie turkey and roast beef. Hooray!

“There’s too much history here and we have a strong enough customer base that wants to see us reopen,”
Kenneth Schlesinger, the Sam’s Hof Brau owner, quoted in "Sam's Hof Brau proposal would see longtime restaurant remain on Watt Avenue", Sacramento Business Journal, 02/02/24
