Potholes meetings once again

Is your car's suspension system  better off now than it was last year?

About a year ago Superviser Rich Desmond held a series of community meetings about the County's hopes for improving the dismal maintenance backlog for streets, bridges and roadways. It was a candor-laden meeting in which the County's head transportation guy, Ron Vacari, explained the poor state of pavement in our neck of the woods and Supervisor Desmond said the County would be spending a lot more money than usual trying to catch up. Here we are almost a year later: what has the County done and is the situation any better?

Supervisor Desmond will once again be holding community meetings about transportation. He says,

Please join me at one of my series of community meetings where we will discuss transportation and our roadways. I have invited Ron Vicari, Director of the Sacramento County Department of Transportation, and Lupe Rodriguez, Chief of Transportation, Division of Operations and Maintenance to provide an update on the condition of our roadways and what the County is doing to address it.
