Candidate Forum + Health Screening events on 02/08

The Latino Leadership Council is a non-profit organization that provides services and support for underserved Latinos in Placer and Sacramento Counties. The Council is hosting two events back-to-back on February 8th at Saint Philomene Church at El Camino and Bell. The first event is a Candidate Forum from 10-12:30am that will cover the Supervisorial Election for District 03 (that’s us!) and some other races. After the Candidates’ event, there will be a health fair from 12-2:30 that will have a blood pressure station, nutrition and education information, and a children's activity station. Some of the Council’s various partners will also be in attendance, such as Sacramento Covered, Opening Doors, California Telephone Access Program, and Granite Wellness Centers. For more information, contact Elisa Herrera of the Latino Leadership Council at (530) 333- 3283 or send email to Elisa@LatinoLeadershipCouncil.org.

After the Candidate Forum, staff from the Latino Leadership Council will be at the health fair to help connect the community to primary care providers and clinics that have been vetted in regard to the level of medical care provided and whether or not they have Spanish-speaking staff.
