Video of public testimony against the tree removal project

On June 13th the Central Valley Flood Protection Board (CVFPB) heard testimony from the public in response to the proposed Army Corps of Engineers' proposed project to remove 600-700 trees along the American River. Please take a few moments to watch the pubic comments. The CVFPB is the project's State co-sponsor, with authority to vote to accept, reject, or modify the project. The Corps of Engineers wants to start removing trees this fall, even though it is clear the public objects and wants to see more thoughtful solutions. For infomation about what happens next and what you can do about it, see https://www.americanrivertrees.org.

CVFPB heard public testimony about the Corps of Engineers' proposed tree removal project. The testimony uniformly asked for a more considerate solution, one that protects the parkway while also providing flood protection.
