Candidate Forum for Congressional District 06 on April 23rd at Howe Park
The public is encouraged to attend the Candidate Forum on April 23rd from 6:30pm,-8:30pm at the Conzelmann Center in Howe Park at 2201 Cottage Way. All candidates for the newly-open seat of Congressional District 06 (see the map, below) have been invited to speak. As of this writing, 5 of the 7 candidates running for the office have confirmed that they will be present. The two other candidates have said they will probably attend. We expect to hear confirmation from them in the very near future and will update this post afterwards.
All 7 candidates will be on the June 2026 ballot seeking to represent portions of Arden Arcade, Carmichael and Foothill Farms, with direct influence over the daily lives of residents and businesses in our unincorporated communities. The top 2 vote-getters will move on to vie in the the November election. Ballots for the June election are scheduled to be mailed on May 4th. The April 23rd Candidate Forum is an opportunity for voters to learn what each candidate stands for and what it will mean for our area if the candidate is elected.
The Candidate Forum is co-sponsored by the Advocates for Arden Arcade and the Greater Arden Chamber of Commerce. It will be moderated by the League of Women Voters of Sacramento County. Free parking is available at Howe Park's parking lots off Bell at the NE and SE corners of the park and at the main parking lot off Cottage across from Home Depot. There is no charge to attend. Because our communities hardly ever get attention - especially in the run-up to elections - the sponsors hope a lot of people will be there. Show the candidates that your votes matter! (And maybe help teach the County to issue Voters' Guides that clarify we are not part of the City of Sacramento).
Additional Candidate Forums will be held on April 28th, May 7th and May 11th, focused on candidates for other races on the June ballot. We will be posting information about those meetings as we get closer to those dates.
