May 9th: Fulton-El Camino Rec&Park District 70th anniversary party

When the farmlands of Arden Arcade were developed after WWII, the County (naturally) failed to anticipate the need for parks and open space to serve the rapidly-growing suburban community. Some local community leaders set out to fix that and, in 1956, the establishment of a Recreation and Parkway District was put before the voters and approved. The district's name was changed to the Fulton-El Camino Recreation and Park District two years later. Today we all benefit from the parklands that were created as a result of the community-minded local initiative 70 years ago. In 2006 the District celebrated its 50th anniversary with a community celebration in Howe Park. Now, in the District's 70th year, there are a number of community celebrations planned, including the Music in the Park party at Howe Park from 2-5pm on May 9th. Details are in the flyer below.

Event: Music in the Park on May 9th, 2-5 PM at Howe Park. Enjoy live music, food trucks, a car show, and a beer garden!
