Post-mortem: Candidate Forum for SCOE Area 03

Reminder: The evening was supposed to be for two candidate forums: One of the two Assembly District 06 candidates declined to appear and the other did not respond to our requests for an RSVP, so the forum for that race was cancelled. We went ahead with the SCOE forum, for which both candidates chose to appear.

The two candidates for the Area 03 Trustee seat on the Sacramento County Office of Education Board of Trustees came to our candidate forum at Howe Park on Monday, May 11th. The forum was co-sponsored by the Advocates for Arden Arcade and the Greater Arden Chamber of Commerce. It was moderated by the League of Women Voters. The forum consisted of opening statements from the candidates, a segment for which the candidates had to answer questions from the community, and closing statements from the candidates.

The recording of the event is available on YouTube at Access Sacramento's channel. You can find the recording here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AfS3UC01hh4. As with its recording of the CD03 forum, Access Sacramento has once again knocked the ball over the fence. They brought an entire TV studio to the forum; you can see the high-quality results. Their team is remarkable and we - the forum sponsors and the community - are in their debt. Unfortunately, the Metro Cable TV Commission is also in debt.: as Access Sacramento has said, the Commission is threatening to severely cut its support for Access Sacramento. Access Sacramento has asked the public to contact the Commission and ask for community media funding to be protected. We agree. We hope you will agree as well.
