Successful Community Happy Hour on 8/14/26

Thank you to every one who showed up at our first Community Happy Hour event on August 14th. Thanks, too, to Flaming Grill for rising to the occasion. It was great to chat with people about things going on in our community - parolee housing, Country Club Plaza, local economic issues, the community's future, whatever.
Our President, Jay Martinez, spoke to the group about the upcoming CPAC meeting (Aug. 27th) to get opinions on the mall owner's proposal to convert the Macy's building to a self-storage facility. He commented that it might be time for a cityhood try again and said a different organization would be needed for that. He noted there is also hope for starting a Community Foundation to help promote the community.

Team Arden Arcade isn't a political group. But it was sure nice to see several candidates for local office at the event: Roxanne Stellmacher (running for San Juan School Board), Steve Rice and Michael Seaman (running for Fulton-E l Camino Rec & Park District Board) and Sean Frame (running for State Senate). They are clearly people who care about the community.
Based on feedback from the attendees and people who emailed us, we will be doing more of these events. Once we figure out when and where, we will be sure to post it on our website. In the meantime: please consider the Sheriff's Meeting on 8/19 and the CPAC self-storage meeting on 8/27.
