The Measure D people held a fund-raising dinner at a restaurant on Fair Oaks Blvd. on Sept. 10, 2010. At the event, citizens, the business community and city council candidates got to know each other better. There were pep talks from AA Rotarian Carolyn Ewing (the former Mayor of Yorba Linda), Rancho Cordova Councilman David Sander, and ex-City of Sacramento Sacto Police Chief Albert Najera. They all said essentially, that cityhood was a no-brainer.
