San Juan Unified School District

The San Juan Unified School District is a large public school district north of the American River and east of the Twin Rivers Unified School District. The District has over 300,000 residents. It stretches from some eastern neighborhoods of the City of Sacramento north and eastwards towards to the Placer County line and the Folsom-Cordova School District. The San Juan Unified School District serves unincorporated Arden Arcade with 12 elementary schools, 3 middle schools and 3 high schools as well as a Montessori School (Cottage), a fundamental high school (El Camino), an early childhood education school (General Davie Jr.), and a language-immersion school (Thomas Edison) that are open to all residents of the District. There are seven School Board Members who are elected by district.

Early in 2022 the San Juan Unified School District shifted from at-large school board elections to by-district elections. Our community is served by 3 of the 7 trustee areas: Area 1 (yellow), Area 2 (green) and Area 3 (salmon).
