2020 San Juan School District election

In the current election there are three seats to be filled on the board the San Juan Unified School District. Four candidates are challenging three incumbents. This is an important contest for us locally, one that’s very hard to get information about. If you read The Bee, you might not even know there was a school board election. The media is saturated with articles and ads about the presidential race and state propositions, along with stories about measures and issues that only affect the City of Sacramento. On occasion you can get information on the candidates for our Congressional District and for our Assembly District. By contrast, it is nearly impossible to get information about candidates for local offices, such as the school district and special districts (parks, water, etc.). Fortunately, the Citrus Heights Sentinel has stepped up to help fill the void. Their article on school board candidates is very helpful! Read it at https://citrusheightssentinel.com/2020/10/16/election-2020-whos-running-for-school-board-in-san-juan-school-district/. Then go vote. Please! Voting is one of our rights as citizens.

p.s. Online voter registration ends on Oct. 19th but voters can register at vote centers until Election Day Nov., 3rd.
