REMINDER: Online Open House 02/04/2021 7pm

Our group is a non-profit organization advocating for the Arden-Arcade area with a focus on the local community and things that affect quality of life for all our community members. On Feb. 4th at 7pm we will hold an online 'open house' meeting for the community - you are invited to attend! If you haven't already signed up for the meeting, please RSVP to advocatesforardenarcade@gmail.com by Feb. 2nd and we'll email the link for the meeting back to you.

The Feb. 4th online meeting presents an opportunity to connect with members of our community and those supporting the Advocates for Arden Arcade. Our agenda for the meeting is

  • Brief overview of Advocates group, purpose and progress so far
  • Audience introductions (who, what part of the community, and #1 community concern)
  • Discussion of potential Covid-safe events for 2021
  • How to join/volunteer with Advocates (because it takes a village)
May contain: person, human, crowd, audience, furniture, chair, indoors, room, classroom, school, speech, lecture, and seminar

The Feb. 4th online meeting is in some ways also a chance to update the findings from our "Forum on the Future" of Oct. 2019. At that community meeting, groups discussed issues of concern at the neighborhood level. As it turned out, there was a lot of commonality throughout the various areas. Homelessness, crime (personal and property) and deteriorating infrastructure (potholes, for instance) were concerns across the entire community. Other issues that rose to the top included: business revitalization, public safety and policing, code enforcement and affordable housing. There was strong overall agreement about the importance of local control and nearly everyone in the room said they wanted Arden Arcade to be its own city. The  detailed meeting notes are available at https://www.advocatesforardenarcade.com/2019-10-15-detailed-summary-of-10-7-2019-meeting.

If you will be participating at the Feb. 4th meeting, please review the Oct. 2019 summary and feel free to discuss them or any other concerns you might have about your neighborhood and the entire community. Thanks as always for your continued interest and support for our organization.
