Post-mortem #2: Candidate Forums for SD06 and AD07
The room was pretty much full for the candidate forums held at the Carmichael Library on April 28th. All the candidates for State Senate District 06 and Assembly District 07 were present. As we previously mentioned, the forum was recorded as a Zoom meeting.
Because the library room does not have audio/video functionality, the Zoom meeting was conducted using two laptops. That turned out to be very tricky. Because of the proximity of the laptops and the inherent constraints of the laptops' built-in microphones, the audio portions presented difficulties. However, the League of Women Voters' volunteers from the Student Democratic Club of Sacramento State were able to provide us with the transcripts and videos for the event. The transcripts are spot-on accurate. The videos are fine, too, given the inherent difficulties. The technology skills of the students at Sac State are way above ours!
